Role Description:
The Sr. R&D Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Padur, responsible for leading food product development projects from concept through pilot and scale-up. The role involves designing and conducting experiments, overseeing laboratory activities, and analyzing data to improve product formulations, quality, safety, and shelf life. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into technical specifications, prepare detailed reports, and present findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner. Daily tasks include managing R&D documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant food regulations and standards, coordinating trials with production teams, and contributing to innovation pipelines and continuous improvement initiatives. The Sr. R&D Specialist will also mentor junior team members and support client meetings with technical insights and solution-oriented recommendations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Research and Development (R&D) skills, including experience in food product development and process optimization.
Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Research capabilities to design experiments, interpret data, and draw evidence-based conclusions.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams, and to document and present technical findings clearly.
Candidates should possess practical Laboratory Skills, including handling lab equipment, following safety protocols, and maintaining accurate experimental records.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in the food industry, particularly in formulation, product testing, and regulatory compliance, is highly beneficial.
Strong project management abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with food safety standards, quality systems, and basic business acumen to align R&D outcomes with commercial objectives.
