Senior Process Development Engineer

Job Summary
K95 Foods is developing a new rinser–filler–capper (RFC) machine and is looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to lead the process side of this build – from the proportional flow regulator (PFR) and filling-valve system through to CIP. This is a hands-on development role: the incumbent will own process calculations, equipment sizing and validation, and prove the machine's performance through real trials, not simulation alone.
Job Responsibilities
• Define the process design basis – products, bottle formats, carbonation, speed and accuracy – and translate it into P&IDs, hydraulic calculations and equipment specifications.
• Develop and prove the PFR and filling-valve system, including flow-meter integration, working from characterisation testing through to a validated operating envelope.
• Design the carbonated-fill sequence (pressurisation, filling profile, pressure release) and validate carbonation retention, foam and product loss on actual product.
• Size pipes, manifolds, pumps and filters, and resolve multi-head distribution and simultaneous-demand issues.
• Own the CIP process design – supply/return paths, cleaning conditions and validation – working closely with QA to prove cleanliness, not just hydraulic adequacy.
• Run single-head and multi-head trials, investigate failures, and close out issues before commissioning.
• Evaluate vendor technical offers and coordinate closely with mechanical design, automation and QA through development.
Requirements
• B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology / Food Engineering, or Process Engineering.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated hands-on development and/or commissioning of a carbonated (pressure) filling system – general pump-sizing or simulation experience alone will not meet the bar for this role.
• Strong grounding in hydraulics, process equipment sizing and CIP system design for food/beverage applications.
• Comfort working from first principles and calculation through to physical trials – someone who validates against real data rather than relying on simulation alone.
• Ability to work closely with mechanical design, automation and QA, with a clear sense of where their own ownership begins and ends.
• CFD / flow simulation experience is a plus, not a substitute for hands-on filling-system development experience.
