Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based at Davaindia Generic Pharmacy in Alleppey. The Pharmacist will dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications, ensuring accurate dosage, labeling, and patient counseling according to regulatory and company standards. The role includes reviewing prescriptions for potential drug interactions, maintaining proper storage and inventory of medicines, and supporting generic substitution where appropriate. The Pharmacist will provide guidance to customers on medication use, side effects, and health and wellness products, while promoting Davaindia’s range of generic and allied healthcare offerings. Additional responsibilities include adherence to statutory requirements, maintenance of records, and collaboration with the store team to ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
Registered Pharmacist with a valid state pharmacy council license and a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (D.Pharm / B.Pharm).
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, generic medicines, dosage forms, and drug interactions, with the ability to interpret and validate prescriptions accurately.
Experience in retail pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory management, billing, and maintenance of statutory records and documentation.
Customer service and communication skills to counsel customers on medication usage, health and wellness products, and to resolve queries professionally.
Attention to detail and adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards, including storage conditions, expiry management, and SOP compliance.
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with pharmacy management or POS systems for efficient transaction and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively with store staff, manage busy periods, and maintain a clean, organized, and ethical pharmacy environment.
Prior experience in generic pharmacy or healthcare retail is an advantage; fluency in local language and English is preferred.
