Staff Software Engineer

Summary:
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack to build and extend a consumer-facing web application that helps users discover benefits, offers, and services. This is a front-end leaning full stack role with primary ownership of Native Web components experiences, while also contributing to the Java backend services and APIs that support them.
General Information:
The engineer will work across high-visibility web experiences including personalized discovery surfaces, benefits and government-related experiences, and browser extension integrations. The role also includes contributing reusable UI components and patterns to a shared design system.
This is an end-to-end engineering position requiring ownership from frontend implementation through backend services, production support, and maintenance.
Tasks and deliverables:
Build and maintain web experiences using React and TypeScript.
Build and extend backend REST and GraphQL services using Java and Spring Boot.
Develop lightweight Next.js BFF layers when server-side authentication or session handling is required.
Integrate frontend experiences with APIs for eligibility, offers, access rules, and personalization.
Build reusable, framework-agnostic UI components for a shared design system.
Collaborate with Product and Design to translate product concepts into production-ready experiences.
Ensure strong performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
Support production features and resolve bugs and incidents.
