About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR AI ENGINEER role is responsible for developing and maintaining the decision and orchestration layer for AI agents. This position ensures appropriate selection and execution of AI models, tools, and deterministic workflows to deliver reliable, safe, and cost-effective AI-powered experiences. The role contributes to transforming evolving AI technologies into stable, customer-facing solutions and internal tools, directly impacting the quality and reliability of AI interactions.
Responsibilities:
Design and build intelligent decision and routing systems that determine agent responses.
Develop intent classification and clarification flows to handle ambiguous requests.
Evaluate and select models based on measurable outcomes like task success and latency.
Implement reliable model orchestration including adapters, routing logic, timeouts, and fallback behaviors.
Integrate AI models, APIs, and tools with safety and compliance controls.
Collaborate with Security and Risk teams to build secure AI systems.
Create reusable AI platform components to support other engineering teams.
Monitor and improve AI performance in production environments.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering workflows.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s; or 3 years with a PhD; or equivalent.
Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including AI/ML application development beyond prototypes.
Strong skills in Python or TypeScript and modern software engineering practices.
Hands-on experience with production AI engineering such as LLM tool calling and retrieval-augmented generation.
Ability to evaluate and select models using quantitative performance metrics.
Experience with cloud deployment, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
