Role Description The Associate Software Engineer is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of internal software tools and systems that enhance business operations. Day-to-day tasks include writing and testing back-end code, assisting in the design and implementation of new software features, and troubleshooting technical issues under the guidance of senior engineers. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, documenting technical solutions, and participating in code reviews to maintain quality standards. The Associate Software Engineer is expected to follow best practices in software development, contribute to process improvements, and support the reliability and scalability of existing applications.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
Hands-on experience or coursework in Software Development, including version control, testing, and debugging.
Basic knowledge or experience in Back-End Web Development, such as working with APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.
Ability to learn quickly, follow technical guidance, and work effectively in a remote, part-time environment.
Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (completed or in progress) is preferred.
Familiarity with collaborative tools (e.g., Git, issue tracking systems) and prior internship or project experience is an advantage.
