Hiredbuddy is looking for an entry-level Data Analyst to join our growing analytics team. This fully remote role is perfect for someone who is eager to apply their analytical skills to real-world business challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and build a strong foundation in data-driven decision making.
As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data from various sources, transforming raw numbers into actionable insights. You will work closely with stakeholders in marketing, operations, and product to understand their reporting needs and deliver clear visualizations that drive strategy.
Your day-to-day will involve writing SQL queries to extract data from relational databases, performing exploratory analysis in Excel or Python, and building dashboards in tools like Tableau or Power BI. You will also assist in maintaining data quality by identifying and correcting inconsistencies, documenting data pipelines, and suggesting improvements to data collection processes.
We expect you to be curious, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous learning. You will receive mentorship from senior analysts, participate in regular team meetings, and have opportunities to present your findings to leadership. While prior internship or coursework is beneficial, we value a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
Key responsibilities include:
Writing and optimizing SQL queries to pull and aggregate data
Cleaning and preprocessing datasets to ensure accuracy and completeness
Performing statistical analysis and trend identification
Creating and maintaining dashboards and ad-hoc reports
Collaborating with team members to define metrics and KPIs
Documenting analysis processes and findings for reproducibility
Staying up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging tools

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
0–2 years of experience (internships or academic projects acceptable)
Proficiency in SQL and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charting)
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar
Basic knowledge of Python or R for data manipulation is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to data accuracy
