This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced tax professional seeking a highly visible role with executive exposure, international operations, and a clear path for long-term growth.
With operations spanning multiple regions worldwide, this organization is seeking a hands-on tax leader who can oversee corporate tax compliance, tax provision activities, and strategic tax initiatives while partnering closely with executive leadership.
**While this position operates in a primarily remote capacity, candidates must reside in the Houston area to support occasional onsite meetings and collaboration with executive leadership.**

Direct the quarterly and annual tax provision process, including ASC 740 reporting, deferred tax calculations, book-to-tax differences, uncertain tax positions, and income tax disclosures.
Partner closely with Finance and Accounting leadership to ensure accurate tax accounting, reporting, and forecasting activities that impact the income statement and balance sheet.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by providing technical tax guidance, evaluating risks and opportunities, and communicating tax matters to senior stakeholders, including the CFO and executive team.
Manage and develop a geographically dispersed team, including U.S. and international staff, while coordinating the efforts of external consulting and advisory partners.
Drive tax research and planning initiatives related to corporate transactions, business operations, organizational changes, and evolving tax legislation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and Operations teams to support strategic business objectives and ensure tax implications are properly evaluated.
Review complex tax positions and technical accounting matters, providing recommendations to leadership regarding compliance, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
Enhance tax department efficiency by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, improve documentation, and leverage technology solutions.
Support audits and examinations by federal, state, and international taxing authorities, managing information requests and defending tax positions as needed.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the business and proactively advise leadership on potential effects and planning opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships with external advisors while ensuring the organization receives high-quality technical support and remains compliant across all jurisdictions.
Contribute to the long-term evolution of the tax function, with the opportunity to assume broader leadership responsibilities and play a key role in the future direction of the department.
