Rewiring America puts American households at the center of an affordable, resilient, all-electric future. We partner with policymakers, industry leaders, manufacturers, workers, and communities to strengthen the electric grid, lower energy prices, and build homegrown energy solutions for all.
Conductor is a new enterprise incubated inside Rewiring America and is spinning out as a venture-funded, seed-stage company. Conductor’s vision is to make the concept of Homegrown Energy real by providing a platform and delivery model to install heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, solar, batteries and other home energy upgrades at a fraction of the usual cost, paid for by the energy value those upgrades create for the utility. Our first program is launching in October 2026 in the Bay Area in collaboration with PG&E and Google. The project is greenlit and funded. What remains is to build an operation that can deliver thousands of upgrades while preserving customer delight and minimizing operational cost.
About The Role
We’re seeking a founding Product Lead to join our nascent product team. This high-impact, high-visibility role is perfect for someone who thrives on building from scratch, operating as a partner to our internal team and customers, synthesizing a great deal of data, and turning an audacious vision into reality.
You will own Conductor’s long-term product vision and delivery of its near-term roadmap. You will start by building and iterating upon our first product: the delivery engine that manages energy upgrade projects for households, contractors, and navigators, driving cost, complexity, and pain out of the process. In the future, you will also scope and guide the development of additional de novo platforms and products to deliver on Conductors’ vision, such as a data insights platform, household targeting tools, program planning tools, and a household maintenance and nurture offering. As Conductor scales, the right candidate will have an opportunity to grow and manage a larger product team.
What You'll Do
Own scope and outcomes for Conductor's household, contractor, and administrative interfaces, as well as other future products
Define the long term product vision and roadmap for Conductor
Obsess (and help the team obsess) over all the details in delivering an outstanding, simplified experience for every customer, contractor, and program user who touches the platform. Bring the user voice forward to channel this obsession into a better product.
Collaborate with the team to work the seam between product and operations - define how to automate core tasks while continuing to preserve a human touch
Collaborate with and understand the needs of external partners, such as utilities, OEMs, contractors
Work hands-on with design, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize multiple incoming streams of features based on business needs.
Lead the team in taking an AI-first approach to prototyping and building
Hold a high bar for product quality
Work with leadership to build and scale the product team as the business scales
Who You Are

The selected candidate will also possess the following Core and Preferred qualifications and characteristics:
Core Qualifications
7+ years in product management, with time as a Senior PM, Group PM, Director, or hands-on Head of Product
More than 2 years at an early stage startup and building 0 → 1 products
Comfort with the ambiguity, aggressive deadlines, and hard pivots that come with early stage product development
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong visual and UX sensibility
Bias for action, ability to get teams unstuck, and a knack for making timely data-driven decisions and sticking with them when prioritization is hard and resources are scarce
Fluency with AI-assisted product development workflows, using LLMs to accelerate prototyping, research, and scoping
Humility to nurture and lift up the best ideas wherever they come from and to get your hands dirty doing tasks that will make the product better or deliver key insights
Track record of achieving and exceeding audacious goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Mentorship or team leadership in prior roles
Experience in utilities, home services, or another business where software meets the real world
Sufficient technical fluency to prototype,, contribute to an architecture discussion, or argue productively about the data model
Demonstrated career interest in climate and energy
