Job Description
[Summary]
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Automation Architect specializing in Oracle Eloqua to lead the transformation of a marketing automation and CRM ecosystem. The role focuses on redesigning the lead flow from CMS to Eloqua to Salesforce, with Eloqua becoming the primary system and Salesforce remaining synchronized.
[General information]
This engagement supports a re-architecture of the lead management process across marketing automation, CRM, and web systems. Today, web leads are processed through Salesforce before being integrated with Eloqua, and the goal is to shift Eloqua to the forefront while making fuller use of its native capabilities, including lead scoring, events, and campaigns.
This is an architect-level role with strategic ownership rather than a pure implementation focus. The consultant will guide internal stakeholders and external partners through the transition, define the target-state design, and act as the design authority through validation, testing, UAT, and cutover.
[Tasks and Deliverables]
- Define the target-state architecture and data model for the CMS-to-Eloqua-to-Salesforce lead flow.
- Lead requirements definition sessions across marketing automation, CRM, and web platforms.
- Redesign the lead process from a CRM-first to a marketing-automation-first approach, including simultaneous and exclusive paths.
- Use Eloqua native features, including the Events object and contact forms, to replace custom solutions.
- Define lead matching, deduplication, and data quality rules, and validate them before build.
- Design unified forms with hidden fields to consolidate multiple product-specific forms.
- Specify strategies for gated and ungated content, tracking, and cookie domain management.
- Design bi-directional Eloqua-Salesforce synchronization aligned to standard objects.
- Define sandbox strategy, test data creation, and end-to-end test case planning.
- Serve as the design authority, oversee implementation, conduct reviews, support UAT, and manage final cutover criteria.
[Required experience]
- Minimum 5 years of Oracle Eloqua experience at architect or lead level.
- Enterprise B2B experience with Oracle Eloqua.
- Expertise in Eloqua features, including campaign canvas, custom objects, events, form processing, and landing pages.
- Proven experience with Eloqua and Salesforce integration, including bi-directional sync and field mapping.
- Experience contributing to projects reverting customized Salesforce instances to standard objects.
- Strong experience with deduplication and data quality processes across multiple lead sources.
- Multilingual and multi-regional Eloqua campaign experience.
- Strong CMS-to-Eloqua integration experience using APIs.
- Experience producing architecture documents used directly for development.
- Ability to hold and enforce design authority across internal teams and external partners.
Nice to have:
- Oracle Eloqua certification.
- Experience migrating from legacy marketing systems.
- Familiarity with webinar, ABM, or conversational/chat platform integrations.
- Drupal familiarity.
[Engagement highlights]
- Defined architect-level ownership across strategy, validation, and cutover planning.
- Opportunity to reshape a core lead management workflow across Eloqua, Salesforce, and web systems.
- Part-time engagement over approximately six months with US Central business hours overlap.
