Solutions Engineer – WiFi
Location: Remote – Must be based in NC, SC, GA, or FL
Direct Hire role
US Citizens or GreenCard holders due to nature of project
No C2C candidates, only W2 candidates
We are looking for an experienced Solutions Engineer – WiFi to join a growing engineering team supporting commercial managed WiFi and network deployments.
This is a hands-on role combining WiFi/WLAN engineering, network design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and client support. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and deploying commercial wireless networks using Ekahau and technologies from Aruba, Ruckus, or Cisco.
Key Responsibilities
Design, optimize, and review WiFi/WLAN network solutions
Create and review BOMs, SOWs, network designs, and deployment documentation
Perform WiFi design, surveying, validation, and remediation using Ekahau or similar tools
Review CAD drawings and floor plans for network and AP placement
Configure and integrate wireless APs, switches, routers, firewalls, LAN/WLAN, and IoT networks
Support commercial WiFi network deployments from design through commissioning and closeout
Partner with field and construction teams during network installation and integration
Perform network testing, troubleshooting, optimization, monitoring, and break/fix support
Analyze network performance data to identify coverage, connectivity, and performance issues
Provide remote and onsite technical support while meeting customer SLAs
Serve as a technical SME during customer meetings and project discussions
Maintain accurate network design and deployment documentation
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of relevant WiFi, wireless networking, or network engineering experience
1+ year of hands-on Ekahau or similar WiFi survey/design tool experience
Hands-on experience with commercial WiFi/WLAN deployments
Experience configuring and troubleshooting APs, switches, routers, and network infrastructure
Practical experience with Aruba, Ruckus, and/or Cisco wireless solutions
Strong understanding of routing, switching, WLAN, and LAN technologies
Experience with network design, BOM creation, and technical documentation
Ability to review and interpret CAD drawings and network design documents
Experience with WiFi network testing, troubleshooting, optimization, and remediation
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Must currently reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Florida
Ability to travel to customer sites up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting hospitality and/or Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) WiFi environments
Experience with RGNets, Nomadix, or similar gateway platforms
Knowledge of AAA/RADIUS and network authentication
Familiarity with network security standards and best practices
CCNA, CWNA/CWNP, or vendor certifications from Aruba, Ruckus, or Cisco
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of certifications and relevant experience
