About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR Payroll Professional to join our dynamic team at Kyndryl India. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. You will serve as the primary liaison between employees, management, and third-party payroll vendors, facilitating seamless payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Japan payroll processing, including social insurance, labor insurance, and resident tax management, along with proficiency in Japanese language skills to effectively communicate with Japan-based stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our global payroll operations, lead system implementations, and uphold the highest standards of compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years of HR payroll experience, with at least 3 to 5 years dedicated to Japan payroll processing. A strong understanding of payroll and accounting processes, coupled with proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate high professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with management at all levels. Knowledge of employment laws, regulatory compliance, and legal requirements specific to Japan is crucial. Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N2 or N1) both written and verbal is required for collaboration with Japan-based HR teams. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Human Resources is preferred, along with prior experience in similar roles and a foundational understanding of other HR functions such as compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities
As an HR Payroll Professional at Kyndryl India, your responsibilities will include managing the entire payroll lifecycle for Japan-based employees, ensuring accurate calculation and disbursement of wages, taxes, and social insurance contributions. You will interpret and apply pay policies, leave entitlements, disability benefits, workers' compensation, and union agreements to ensure compliance and precision in payroll processing. Your role will involve coordinating with third-party payroll vendors during system implementations, upgrades, and troubleshooting to maintain seamless operations. Additionally, you will stay updated on federal and state payroll regulations, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and implementing necessary changes proactively.
You will also play a key role in the offboarding process, working closely with departing employees, HR, and legal teams to facilitate smooth transitions and accurate final settlements. Your analytical skills will be vital in resolving payroll discrepancies, auditing reports, and maintaining detailed records. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and compliance departments, will be essential to uphold data integrity and operational excellence.
