Role Description The Teacher Assistant role at Sahayog Group of Schools is a full-time, on-site position based in Gondia. The Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers in delivering lessons, preparing teaching materials, and organizing learning activities. Responsibilities include providing individual and small-group support to students, assisting with classroom management, and helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. The role involves monitoring student progress, assisting with basic assessments, and communicating observations to the lead teacher. The Teacher Assistant also helps with school events, administrative tasks related to the classroom, and collaborates with staff to support students’ academic and personal growth.
Qualifications
Ability to support classroom instruction and Assistant Teaching activities, including helping implement lesson plans and learning exercises.
Strong Communication skills for interacting with students, teachers, and families in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.
Background or interest in Education, with an understanding of basic teaching methods and school routines.
Comfort with Mathematics to assist students with foundational math concepts and classroom assignments.
Experience or genuine interest in Working With Children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a student-centered approach.
Minimum of a high school diploma; a degree or diploma in Education or related field is preferred.
Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with teaching staff, and manage time effectively in a busy school environment.
Basic proficiency in relevant local languages and English, and familiarity with classroom technology is an advantage.
