Role Description The Student Counselor will provide one-on-one and group counseling to students, helping them navigate academic choices, personal challenges, and career planning. Responsibilities include assessing students’ needs, guiding them through course and program selection, and offering information on higher education options, entrance exams, and vocational pathways. The role involves maintaining accurate records, conducting workshops and orientation sessions, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administration to support student success. The counselor will also handle inquiries in a professional manner, ensure a welcoming environment, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gorakhpur.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling skills, including academic and personal guidance for diverse student populations.
Candidates should possess Career Counseling skills to support students in exploring options, setting goals, and planning education and career pathways.
Candidates should possess Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and empathy.
Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to manage student and parent queries, maintain professionalism, and ensure a supportive environment.
Candidates should possess Education-related knowledge, such as understanding school and college systems, entrance exams, and local and national educational opportunities.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field; a counseling certification is an advantage.
Ability to work collaboratively with educators and families, handle sensitive information with discretion, and manage multiple cases efficiently.
Prior experience as a student or career counselor, especially in school or coaching institute settings, is preferred.
