[Remote] Technical Lead (Web3)

Our client is an innovative technology company developing a Web3-enabled digital marketplace in the automotive sector. The platform is currently at the MVP completion stage and is now looking for a Technical Lead to take ownership of the technical direction and help move the product toward a production-ready platform.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role covering Frontend, Backend, and Web3 integration. You will work closely with engineers and product stakeholders to shape architecture, drive technical decisions, improve engineering quality, and ensure reliable product delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Technical Architecture & System Design
Own and evolve the end-to-end technical architecture across web applications, backend services, and Web3 components.
Design reliable data flows between frontend, APIs, and on-chain/off-chain systems.
Make technical decisions around scalability, maintainability, security, observability, and deployment.
Identify architectural gaps and define practical solutions as the product moves beyond MVP.
2. Technical Leadership
Provide technical direction and hands-on guidance to Frontend, Backend, and Web3 engineers.
Review code and establish engineering standards, development practices, and release criteria.
Break down product requirements and roadmap objectives into clear technical milestones.
Mentor engineers and help resolve technical challenges and blockers.
3. Product & Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Coordinate technical dependencies across different engineering areas.
Evaluate technical trade-offs and communicate risks, constraints, and recommendations clearly.
Take ownership of technical delivery and ensure alignment between product requirements and implementation.
4. Security, Reliability & Production Readiness
Strengthen security across authentication, authorization, API boundaries, token flows, and application configuration.
Help evolve the platform from MVP-level infrastructure toward a scalable production architecture.
Define and improve testing strategies for critical product workflows.
Establish practices that improve system reliability, observability, and release confidence.
The current technology stack includes:
Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui
Backend: Node.js, Fastify, TypeScript, JWT, Zod
Web3: Wallet connectivity, smart-contract interactions, escrow-style transaction flows
Blockchain: Ethereum, Polygon, and testnet environments
Other: Redis, API integration, authentication, distributed system architecture
QUALIFICATIONS
6+ years of software engineering experience, with previous experience as a Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, or in a similar technical ownership role.
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern web application architecture.
Solid experience with React and Node.js backend development.
Solid understanding of API design, authentication/authorization, and security best practices.
Experience designing and operating scalable distributed systems.
Hands-on approach to code review, mentoring, and cross-functional execution.
Nice to Have
Experience with Web3/blockchain products, including wallet integration or smart-contract interactions.
Experience with transaction, payment, escrow, or ownership-related workflows.
Experience with Fastify, Redis, or similar technologies.
Experience with production observability and monitoring practices.
Background in marketplaces, fintech, automotive technology, or other transaction-heavy platforms.
Familiarity with the Ethereum/Polygon ecosystem and the technical trade-offs of multi-network applications.
