Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Engineering
Analyze customer specifications and system requirements for rolling stock traction systems.
Develop subsystem architecture, functional descriptions, interface specifications, and design documentation.
Define electromechanical interfaces between traction equipment, carbody, bogie, TCMS, braking, and auxiliary systems.
Support requirement traceability and compliance activities.
Electromechanical Design
Design and integration of: Traction Converters Auxiliary Converters Battery Chargers DC/DC Converters Traction Motors Brake Resistors High Voltage Equipment Main Electrical Cabinets Roof Mounted Equipment
Equipment arrangement and installation design.
Cable routing, harness integration, and connector selection.
Support creation of 3D layouts and installation drawings.
Electrical Engineering
Preparation and Review of: Single Line Diagrams (SLD) Wiring Diagrams Functional Schematics Interface Control Documents Cable Schedules
Validation of protection philosophy and power distribution concepts.
Support electrical calculations and load analysis.
Mechanical Integration
Coordinate mounting arrangements, brackets, supports, and enclosure designs.
Review cooling, ventilation, accessibility, maintainability, and serviceability requirements.
Support mechanical stress, vibration, and shock assessments.
Verification & Validation
Support subsystem testing activities including: FAT Type Tests Routine Tests Vehicle Integration Tests Dynamic Tests
Analyze test results and support issue resolution.
Prepare compliance and validation reports.
Configuration & Change Management
Handle engineering change requests.
Manage technical documentation and revision control.
Participate in design reviews and customer meetings.
Required Technical SkillsRolling Stock Systems
Strong understanding of:
Traction Propulsion Systems
Auxiliary Power Supply Systems
High Voltage and Low Voltage Architectures
Train Electrical Distribution
Traction Motor Fundamentals
Converter & Inverter Technologies
Vehicle Electrical Integration
Engineering Tools
Experience in one or more:
CATIA V5 / V6
Creo
DOORS (desirable)
Railway Standards
Knowledge of:
EN 50155, EN 50121, EN 50343, EN 50124, EN 50125, EN 61373, EN 45545, IEC 60077, IEC 60571
