Position Overview
The Photographer / Videographer is responsible for planning, producing, capturing, and editing high-quality visual content for marketing campaigns, social media, websites, events, products, corporate communications, and other creative projects. The role manages the visual production process from concept development and pre-production through shooting, post-production, and final delivery.
The position works closely with marketing, creative, communications, clients, and internal teams to translate creative briefs and brand objectives into engaging photography and video content. The role is expected to maintain professional production standards while managing cameras, lighting, audio equipment, editing workflows, digital assets, deadlines, and multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute photography and videography projects according to creative briefs, campaign objectives, brand guidelines, and project requirements.
Develop shot lists, storyboards, production plans, schedules, and other pre-production materials where required.
Work with creative, marketing, social media, and other teams to understand content objectives, target audiences, messaging, and visual direction.
Conceptualize creative approaches for promotional campaigns, product content, corporate communications, events, interviews, lifestyle shoots, and social media content.
Operate professional cameras, lenses, lighting systems, tripods, gimbals, microphones, monitors, and other photography and video equipment.
Set up and adjust camera angles, framing, exposure, lighting, audio, focus, and composition to achieve high-quality results.
Conduct photography and video shoots in studio, office, outdoor, event, client, and on-location environments.
Capture high-quality product photography, portraits, lifestyle images, event coverage, promotional footage, interviews, and other visual assets.
Direct or coordinate subjects, models, presenters, clients, and team members during shoots to achieve the required visual outcome.
Monitor lighting, audio, framing, focus, exposure, continuity, and overall production quality during filming.
Conduct location scouting and assess lighting, space, background, accessibility, equipment requirements, and other production considerations.
Manage shoot schedules and ensure production activities are completed efficiently and within agreed timelines.
Review captured footage and photographs to identify quality issues, missing shots, technical problems, or additional content requirements.
Edit photographs using tools such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent software.
Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or other relevant editing platforms.
Perform colour correction, colour grading, image retouching, audio cleanup, sound mixing, transitions, captions, subtitles, and basic motion graphics where required.
Produce short-form content optimized for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and other digital channels.
Prepare long-form videos, promotional videos, corporate videos, interviews, event highlights, product demonstrations, and other required formats.
Adapt visual content into different aspect ratios, resolutions, file formats, durations, and platform specifications.
Ensure all final photographs and videos meet required technical, creative, branding, and quality standards.
Collaborate with designers, copywriters, marketing teams, social media teams, and external partners to create cohesive multimedia campaigns.
Maintain consistent visual style, composition, colour treatment, storytelling, and brand identity across all content.
Organize, label, archive, back up, and maintain photography and video files using structured digital asset-management practices.
Maintain an organized library of raw footage, edited content, project files, photographs, graphics, audio files, and final deliverables.
Ensure photography and videography equipment is properly maintained, stored, transported, and ready for production.
Monitor equipment condition and report technical issues, damage, loss, or maintenance requirements promptly.
Coordinate equipment rentals, locations, props, production materials, and other resources when required.
Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting agreed deadlines.
Work within approved production budgets and coordinate with relevant teams regarding equipment, locations, external vendors, and production costs.
Stay updated on photography, cinematography, editing techniques, creative technologies, visual trends, and social media formats.
Research current content trends and identify creative opportunities that can improve audience engagement and brand visibility.
Review completed content with relevant stakeholders and incorporate reasonable feedback and revisions.
Ensure appropriate usage rights, releases, licensed assets, music, footage, and other production materials are properly managed where applicable.
Maintain professional conduct when working with clients, talent, colleagues, vendors, and members of the public.
Support special events, product launches, exhibitions, campaigns, interviews, live productions, and other marketing activities as required.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Photography, Videography, Film Production, Multimedia, Mass Communication, Digital Media, Visual Arts, or a related discipline is preferred.
Proven experience in professional photography, videography, content production, or a similar creative role.
Strong portfolio demonstrating photography, videography, editing, visual storytelling, composition, and creative production skills.
Strong knowledge of camera operation, lenses, composition, framing, lighting, exposure, and basic audio recording.
Hands-on experience with professional cameras, lighting equipment, microphones, tripods, gimbals, and other production equipment.
Proficiency in video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or equivalent.
Proficiency in photo-editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom is preferred.
Knowledge of colour correction, colour grading, sound editing, motion graphics, captions, and post-production workflows is an advantage.
Understanding of social media content formats and requirements for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
Strong creative eye with excellent understanding of visual composition, storytelling, pacing, aesthetics, and brand consistency.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on technical and creative quality.
Good communication, collaboration, organization, and project-management skills.
Ability to translate creative briefs and ideas into practical photography and video productions.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with creative, marketing, and production teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects, changing priorities, production schedules, and tight deadlines.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, events, and off-site assignments when required.
Willingness to travel to different shooting locations when required.
Strong file-management and digital-asset organization skills.
Experience with commercial, corporate, product, event, lifestyle, or social media content production is an advantage.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage depending on the target audience and business environment.
