Senior Performance Test Engineer

About Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Performance Test Engineer with a strong background in performance testing for large-scale enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with K6 and will be adept at building performance test frameworks from scratch. This role involves integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and validating application behavior during peak load conditions, particularly in the context of complex on-premises to Azure cloud migration programs.

What You'll Do:
Design and execute performance test scenarios including load, stress, soak, and spike testing using K6 against Azure environments.
Capture baseline performance metrics on legacy/on-premises environments and validate performance parity on Azure infrastructure.
Validate application behavior under 150% of peak load conditions and verify autoscaling configurations.
Monitor, analyze, and report p99 latency against defined SLA requirements.
Prepare and manage large-scale test datasets to accurately simulate production workloads.
Integrate K6 performance tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for automated execution.
Leverage monitoring and APM tools such as Datadog and Azure Monitor to identify bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations.
Execute end-to-end performance validation across Dev, Test, Stage, and Production environments.
Document performance trends, findings, and recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
Expertise You'll Bring:
6 to 10 years of dedicated experience in performance and load testing.
Strong hands-on expertise with K6 performance testing framework.
Proficiency in JavaScript for K6 scripting and framework development.
Experience building performance testing frameworks from scratch.
Strong experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions and test automation practices.
Familiarity with Azure services including App Services, Azure SQL, and private endpoints.
Experience with monitoring and APM tools such as Datadog, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks and root causes.
Experience conducting load, stress, spike, and soak testing for enterprise applications.
Knowledge of performance baseline analysis and migration validation activities.
Experience validating cloud scalability, autoscaling behavior, and application resiliency.
Strong understanding of API performance testing and service-level validation.
Familiarity with JMeter or LoadRunner and the ability to translate traditional testing concepts into K6-based frameworks.
Experience with Azure Load Testing services.
Knowledge of .NET enterprise applications and API-level performance testing.
Experience with Postman and Newman for API validation.
Domain knowledge in Payroll or BFSI environments is an advantage.
Experience configuring and managing self-hosted GitHub Actions runners.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and product teams.
