JOB PURPOSE
The Head – Planning is responsible for comprehensive project planning, design coordination, execution monitoring, and stakeholder interface across infrastructure development works. The position focuses on strategic planning, seamless coordination, and disciplined project delivery. The role involves preparing mobilization schedules, finalizing WBS structures, and tracking project progress using tools like Primavera and MS Project. It includes resolving inter-disciplinary conflicts, and monitoring execution against DPRs, WPRs, and MPRs. The role also supports interface management, drives value engineering during execution, and ensures readiness for project handover and operational transition.

Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop mobilization schedules for manpower, plant, and materials at project inception and on a rolling monthly basis.
Finalize package programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), activity weightages, and project “S” curves.
Use tools like Primavera and MS Project to create and track engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
Monitor the master schedule, highlighting variances, delays, and critical path impacts.
Sequence the airside/landside works, enabling infrastructure, and systems integration activities to minimize rework or delays.
Schedule Adherence
Timeliness of Rolling Mobilization Plans
Risk Mitigation & Change Control
Maintain a live risk register with schedule-related risks, dependencies, constraints, and mitigation strategies.
Lead planning contingency exercises for events such as monsoons, strikes, regulatory delays, or material shortages.
Facilitate delay analysis and forensic scheduling in the event of disputes or claims.
Highlight “early warning” indicators, emerging delays, and recovery options for leadership intervention.
Establish formal protocols for baseline change management, EOT (extension of time) claims, and schedule realignment approvals.
Track and manage all change requests impacting project timelines and update the master plan in a controlled and auditable manner.

Project Execution Monitoring & Governance
Review progress of civil, MEP, and IT works, aligning with DPRs, WPRs, and MPRs.
Monitor contractor recovery schedules, NFAs, and budget linkage.
Validate monthly running bills and progress reports.
Generate dashboards with SPI/CPI and variance reports for projects.
Implement automated tracking systems using project control tools (e.g., Primavera, Power BI, SAP).
Conduct weekly reviews with execution heads to monitor milestones, identify slippages, and adjust look-ahead plans.
Align project milestones with financial disbursement schedules and board governance checkpoints.

Provide technical input to procurement teams for tender packages, BOQs, and vendor evaluations.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors/ master’s degree in civil engineering
Certification in project management from NICMAR is preferred
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
18-20 years of experience in Complex Steel/Concrete Structures, FaÃ
ade & Specialized Roofing Systems with min. 5 Years of Airport experience preferable
Should have executed & integrated complex buildings such as Malls, Hotels, Hospitals, and other mid- large size infra projects & public utility buildings
