Controlling Specialist

The Controller is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and plays a key role in financial operations and in managing Finance and Controlling activities at the Dunkermotoren level, to achieve the objectives of the Business Unit and the Division.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Budgeting:
Support budgeting, planning, and monitoring cost reductions
Analyse variances and suggests corrective actions to production and overhead departments
Prepare plant rates and establish standard costs for accuracy in cost estimation, inventory evaluation, and production performance
Financial Reporting:
Work with the Finance team on monthly and year-end closings (US GAAP), investigate discrepancies, and provide timely reports
Prepare internal and external financial packages for management
Capex Management:
Support the preparation and the review capital appropriation requests for new equipment and tooling
Monitor spending to ensure alignment with appropriations and trigger supplemental requests when necessary
Control & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX, including self-testing and documentation posting
Drive continuous improvement in reporting, control, and compliance
Support audit management
Qualifications:
Degree in Accounting or Finance required
6-8 years of experience in a financial/controlling position within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of financial, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, balance sheets, and projections
Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Key Competencies:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of SAP ERP – advanced skills in FI-CO modules
Fluent in English and German
