Head of Technology

Role Description The Head of Technology at São Paulo Tech School (SPTech) is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the institution’s overall technology vision, strategy, and operations. This role leads the planning and implementation of IT initiatives that support academic programs, online learning, and internal business processes. Day-to-day activities include supervising IT operations, guiding infrastructure improvements, ensuring system reliability and security, and coordinating with academic and administrative leaders to align technology solutions with organizational needs. The Head of Technology also evaluates new tools and platforms, manages vendor relationships, establishes technology policies and standards, and monitors performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Collaboration, clear communication, and a focus on scalable, student-centered technology solutions are central to this position.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Information Technology with hands-on experience across systems, networks, and applications.
Demonstrated IT Management and IT Operations skills, including leadership of small technical teams and oversight of day-to-day support activities.
Proven IT Strategy experience, including developing technology roadmaps, setting priorities, and aligning initiatives with organizational goals.
Practical knowledge of Infrastructure management, such as cloud services, security, data storage, and connectivity.
Experience working in or with educational institutions or edtech organizations is highly beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, part-time capacity, managing priorities and communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to documentation, risk assessment, and decision-making.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, cloud certifications) are a plus.
