Portfolio Business Analyst

Business Case Development & Assurance
Develop business cases using the Five Case Model, ensuring strategic alignment and analysis of requirements, delivery options, potential benefits, associated business risks and economic calculations.
Monitor and maintain approved business cases, ensuring spending objectives and financial oversight are effectively managed, with appropriate action taken to close, extend or secure ongoing business case cover where required.
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
Conduct analysis of business problems and opportunities, working with stakeholders to identify requirements, inform solution design and develop business requirements documentation, product justifications and supporting artefacts.
Conduct 'As Is' and 'To Be' process mapping.
Facilitate workshops, stakeholder engagement activities and presentations to support requirements gathering, decision-making and communication across all organisational levels.
Build and maintain effective relationships across business and delivery teams.
Lead the identification, baselining, monitoring and reporting of benefits to ensure anticipated outcomes are realised and evidenced.
Portfolio Governance & Product Oversight
Oversee a portfolio of digital products, ensuring governance requirements are met and products progress through agreed approval and assurance processes.
Monitor product status, approvals, governance actions, delivery progress, risks, dependencies and financial information, ensuring issues are identified and progressed appropriately.
Maintain accurate portfolio management information, ensuring product records, milestones, approvals and reporting data remain current and reliable.
Support product lifecycles from initiation through delivery, benefits realisation and closure activities.
Prepare governance papers, portfolio reports, management information and briefing materials for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Manage and prioritise a varied workload across multiple products and initiatives, ensuring competing deadlines, governance activities and stakeholder requirements are effectively coordinated.
Minimum of 5 years' practical experience, gained within the last 7 years, in Business Analysis, with a proven track record supporting large-scale business change and/or technology programmes and projects.
Demonstrable experience developing business cases, business requirements documentation, product justifications and business process maps.
Experience operating within portfolio, programme or project environments, supporting governance, assurance, reporting and decision-making activities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, manage competing priorities and develop practical recommendations.
Experience maintaining and analysing management information to support portfolio oversight, governance and reporting requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively at all organisational levels.
Experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Highly organised, proactive and results-oriented, with strong attention to detail and accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes.
