AIX L2 Administrator
We are looking for an experienced AIX L2 Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure Operations team supporting a large-scale manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing IBM AIX systems to ensure high availability, performance, security, and business continuity across critical production and enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain IBM AIX servers in production, development, and DR environments. Perform system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Manage LPARs, VIO Servers, HMC, and PowerVM virtualization technologies. Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability. Execute user administration, file system management, and security hardening activities. Support backup and recovery operations using enterprise backup solutions. Analyze and resolve operating system, hardware, and application-related issues. Coordinate with application, database, storage, network, and security teams for incident resolution. Participate in change management, problem management, and root cause analysis activities. Ensure compliance with organizational security and operational standards. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks. Provide on-call and weekend support as required for critical business operations.
Strong experience in IBM AIX Administration (AIX 7.x and above). Hands-on experience with: PowerVM, HMC, VIO Server (VIOS), LPAR Management, NIM Server, mksysb backup and recovery, Good understanding of SAN Storage concepts.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
IBM AIX Administration Certification preferred.
Relevant certifications in IBM Power Systems will be an added advantage.
