Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Device Specialist Lead to oversee mobile device operations, technical support, configuration, security, and lifecycle management across an organization. This role will provide technical leadership for smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, and related device-management platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mobile device technologies, enterprise mobility management, troubleshooting, and security practices, along with the ability to guide support teams and coordinate mobile technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the administration and support of corporate mobile devices.
Manage device enrollment, configuration, provisioning, and deployment.
Oversee mobile device lifecycle management from deployment through replacement and retirement.
Configure and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions.
Support iOS, Android, and other approved mobile platforms.
Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application, connectivity, and configuration issues.
Establish mobile device support procedures and technical standards.
Monitor device compliance with organizational security policies.
Manage mobile application deployment, updates, and access permissions.
Assist with mobile security controls, encryption, authentication, and access management.
Maintain accurate inventory and documentation for mobile devices and accessories.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides.
Analyze recurring device issues and implement long-term solutions.
Coordinate with IT, security, networking, vendors, and business teams.
Lead incident resolution involving mobile devices and services.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to support staff.
Evaluate mobile technologies and recommend improvements to the organization's mobility environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
4+ years of experience in mobile device management, IT support, endpoint management, or a related area.
Strong knowledge of iOS and Android platforms.
Experience with MDM/EMM platforms such as Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, Jamf, or similar solutions.
Knowledge of mobile device security and endpoint management practices.
Experience troubleshooting mobile hardware, software, applications, and connectivity.
Strong understanding of device enrollment, provisioning, policies, and compliance.
Familiarity with identity and access management concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to lead technical initiatives and support team members.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing large-scale enterprise mobility environments.
Microsoft Intune or related MDM certification.
Experience with Apple Business Manager or Android Enterprise.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
Knowledge of endpoint security and mobile application management.
Experience with IT service management and ticketing platforms.
Experience leading an IT support or endpoint management team.
Familiarity with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell.
