Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments.
Manage WebSphere ND environments, including Deployment Managers, Nodes, Node Agents, Clusters, and Application Servers.
Perform application deployments, rollbacks, server restarts, and configuration changes.
Configure and manage JDBC providers, data sources, JMS resources, connection pools, virtual hosts, and security settings.
Monitor WebSphere servers and troubleshoot application, JVM, performance, and connectivity issues.
Analyze SystemOut.log, SystemErr.log, FFDC, JVM, and application logs for problem determination.
Perform JVM tuning, heap analysis, thread dump analysis, and basic performance troubleshooting.
Manage SSL certificates, keystores, truststores, and WebSphere security configurations.
Configure and maintain WebSphere clusters and high-availability environments.
Support production releases and coordinate deployments with application, database, infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
Perform WebSphere upgrades, fix packs, patches, and migration activities.
Automate routine administration and deployment activities using Jython, wsadmin, shell scripting, or other automation tools.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Provide 24x7 production support and participate in on-call rotations when required.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
Required Skills
7+ years of experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server administration.
Strong knowledge of WebSphere 8.5/9.x and WebSphere Network Deployment.

Strong Linux/Unix administration skills.
Good knowledge of JVM, heap, thread dumps, garbage collection, and performance troubleshooting.
Experience with wsadmin and Jython scripting.
Knowledge of HTTP servers and web-tier components such as IBM HTTP Server (IHS).
Experience with application deployment and production troubleshooting.
Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server.
Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and networking concepts.
Experience working with ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management processes.
Preferred Skills
Experience with WebSphere Liberty.
Knowledge of IBM MQ.
Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Git, or CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to containerization and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
Experience with WebSphere migration and modernization projects.
Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or similar.
Relevant IBM/WebSphere certifications are an advantage.
