Workday Functional Consultant (HRMS)

MailerMen is hiring a Workday Functional Consultant (HRMS) to provide functional support and configuration expertise across Workday HRMS modules. Workday is a cloud platform that organisations use to run their people processes, and an HRMS, or human resource management system, is the system of record that holds employee data, pay structures, working time and leave. The role sits between the HR and IT sides of that work: you will take business requirements from HR and translate them into Workday configuration, then support that configuration once it is live.
The modules in scope are Advanced Compensation, Compensation, Time Management and Absence Management. Compensation covers how pay is structured and administered, while Advanced Compensation handles the scheduled cycles that run across an organisation, such as merit increases, bonuses and stock awards. Time Management records hours worked and Absence Management handles leave entitlements, requests and balances. Mistakes in these areas reach an employee's pay or leave balance directly, so careful configuration, testing and validation are central to the work.
You will collaborate with HR and IT stakeholders to understand what they need, perform system configuration, and test and deploy Workday enhancements and fixes. You will work with Workday business processes, which are the configurable approval and routing flows that decide how a request moves through the organisation, and with Workday reporting, which is how HR and business users get the data back out. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues raised against the supported modules, provide guidance and training to end users and HR teams, and make sure the work meets data security and privacy standards, because HR records are sensitive personal data. The engagement is remote, so you will need to manage your own priorities and deliver with limited day-to-day supervision.
This is a 12-month contract, worked remotely from anywhere in India. The rate is ₹1,20,000 per month plus GST. You must be available to support the PST (Pacific Standard Time) zone for meetings, collaboration and issue resolution. The role calls for 8+ years of experience. Responsibilities
Provide functional support and configuration expertise across the Workday HRMS modules in scope.
Configure and maintain Advanced Compensation and Compensation to match agreed pay structures and cycles.
Configure and maintain Time Management and Absence Management, including leave entitlements, requests and balances.
Work with HR and IT stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
Maintain Workday business processes so that approvals and routing reflect how the HR teams actually work.
Build and maintain the Workday reports that HR and business users depend on.
Test Workday enhancements and fixes before release and confirm that the results are correct.
Deploy approved Workday enhancements and fixes into the production tenant.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues raised against the supported Workday modules.
Provide guidance and training to end users and HR teams.
Ensure that configuration and support work complies with data security and privacy standards.
Be available during PST working hours for meetings, collaboration and issue resolution.
Requirements
8+ years of experience working with Workday HRMS modules.
Proven expertise in Workday Advanced Compensation and Compensation.
Proven expertise in Workday Time Management and Absence Management.
Strong understanding of Workday business processes and how they are configured.
Hands-on experience with Workday reporting.
Experience performing system configuration, testing and deployment of Workday enhancements and fixes.
Ability to translate HR and IT business requirements into working Workday solutions.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues across Workday HRMS modules.
Experience guiding and training end users and HR teams on Workday.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote setup.
Experience supporting clients or teams working in the PST time zone.
