Associate Project Manager, Program Management Office

The Associate Project Manager is a generalist member of the PMO supporting a large federal facilities program delivered across multiple sites and task orders. You will work across PMO functions, including schedule, risk, change control, reporting, and deliverable review, and you will be deployed where the program needs support most, including site level work and phase gate reviews. You will operate with oversight from the PMO Director and senior project managers and may lead smaller scopes independently as you build experience.
This is a remote role on Eastern Time with travel to program sites as required. Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain a public trust and security clearance.
What you will do
- Support senior project managers across active task orders with planning, scheduling, procurement coordination, quality, and risk from initiation through closeout.
- Maintain site level risk registers and change control logs, confirm every entry has an owner and a mitigation, and prepare inputs for weekly program risk reviews.
- Track progress against approved baselines, report status and variances, and draft corrective action plans for review.
- Support deliverable reviews and phase gate checkpoints, including coordinating technical reviewers, tracking comments to closure, and confirming deliverables meet contract requirements before submission to the client.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation in accordance with program governance and client requirements, and support the transition of project data into the program's systems, including Power BI and Kahua.
- Identify work requested outside current contract scope and route it through the change control process.
- Step into a needs package or site team on short notice to cover gaps, coordinate with field staff, and report back to the PMO.
- Coordinate with client and partner counterparts to keep submissions, approvals, and reporting aligned.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
Two or more years supporting projects in a federal, infrastructure, facilities, or construction environment. Experience on a federal program with multiple task orders is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of schedule, risk, and change control fundamentals and the ability to apply them without detailed direction.
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications well enough to support deliverable and site reviews.
Strong written communication, with the ability to turn field and technical information into clear status for leadership.
Comfort working across organizational boundaries with client, partner, and subcontractor staff.
Ability to travel to program sites
Preferred
CAPM or PMP.
Experience with Power BI, Kahua, or similar project information systems.
Prior exposure to FAA, DoD, or other federal facilities programs.
Familiarity with earned value or level of effort contract tracking.
