Access Network Planner – OLT/PON
Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications provider, is hiring an OSP Bandwidth Augments Planner to identify, plan, and initiate network augmentation projects that expand bandwidth capacity and support customer growth across the OSP network.
What You'll Do:
Review bandwidth utilization, customer demand, and network capacity data to identify areas needing augmentation
Develop OSP planning solutions for new equipment placement or fiber reinforcement
Confirm core infrastructure capacity availability with Core Planners
Create planning-level scopes and cost estimates
Initiate funding requests and support project approvals through to engineering/construction handoff
What You Bring:
Experience in OSP planning, engineering, or related infrastructure work
Working knowledge of fiber network architecture and access network infrastructure
Experience working with OLTs (Optical Line Terminals) — required, preferably in a planning capacity
Ability to read network records, maps, engineering drawings, and utilization data
Strong analytical and communication skills
Experience with project scopes and cost estimation
Nice to Have:
Copper experience
3+ years of OSP fiber planning
Experience with bandwidth augmentation, capacity relief, or network exhaust
Knowledge of permitting/ROW/make-ready, PON, DSL, Ethernet, or transport handoff
Details: Remote | 12-Month Contract | $40/hr
Note: This role focuses specifically on augmenting OLTs in the Central Office (C.O.).
