Applications Programmer – Australia

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Applications Programmer to design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance software applications that support business and customer requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, software engineers, analysts, and other technology professionals to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, and maintain software applications based on business and technical requirements.
Translate functional requirements and technical specifications into efficient application code.
Develop, test, debug, and troubleshoot applications to ensure quality and performance.
Identify and resolve software defects, technical issues, and application errors.
Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards and best practices.
Integrate applications with databases, APIs, and other software systems.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, application specifications, and user documentation.
Monitor application performance and support continuous improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Contribute to application security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
2+ years of professional experience in application development or programming.
Strong programming and software development fundamentals.
Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of databases, SQL, APIs, and application integration.
Experience with software testing, debugging, and version control.
Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
