Role Description The AI Engineer intern role at Cybervie-Cyber Security Services is a remote, contract position focused on supporting the development and enhancement of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in designing and implementing machine learning models, experimenting with pattern recognition techniques, and contributing to neural network architectures relevant to threat detection. The intern will support data preprocessing and analysis for natural language processing (NLP) tasks, such as analyzing logs, alerts, and incident reports, under the guidance of senior engineers. The role also involves collaborating with software development teams to integrate AI components into existing tools, documenting experiments and results, and participating in code reviews and model performance evaluations. The intern is expected to learn quickly, follow secure coding and data handling practices, and communicate progress clearly in a distributed team environment.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and basic version control.
Knowledge of Pattern Recognition and experience or coursework in building or evaluating models for classification or anomaly detection.
Understanding of Neural Networks and common machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, such as tokenization, text classification, or sequence modeling.
Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in AI (such as Python) and comfort working with data analysis libraries.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional cybersecurity teams.
Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Interest in cybersecurity and willingness to learn about secure coding practices, threat landscapes, and ethical handling of data.
