Senior Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build and evolve production web systems with strong ownership across frontend and backend services. You will help shape technical design, improve reliability and performance, and collaborate across teams to deliver accessible experiences.
Responsibilities
Design full-stack solutions that ship reliably to production
Build TypeScript and React UI features with accessible patterns and solid state management
Implement backend services using Kotlin on the JVM and shared platform libraries where appropriate
Define and maintain service interfaces using gRPC/protobuf and REST endpoints
Model and optimize data in DynamoDB and PostgreSQL to support product features
Improve performance across browser runtime, service latency, and data access paths
Ensure quality with unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and clear release criteria
Operate effectively within AWS, containers, and CI/CD workflows to deliver changes safely
Evaluate trade-offs for caching, queues, and eventual consistency in distributed systems
Lead technical design discussions and drive cross-team alignment on architecture
Troubleshoot production issues and implement pragmatic fixes and preventative measures
Requirements
3+ years full-stack web engineering experience shipping production systems
Strong TypeScript experience with a modern component framework (React preferred)
Strong JVM backend proficiency with Kotlin or Java, or TypeScript for shared platform libraries
Strong API development skills with gRPC + protobuf, plus HTTP and REST
Strong database skills with DynamoDB and PostgreSQL, including data modeling for product features
Strong AWS experience working effectively in containerized and CI/CD environments as a consumer
Strong testing discipline across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
Cross-team ownership and design leadership skills for driving technical decisions
Strong collaboration and communication skills to align with stakeholders and partner teams
English proficiency: B2 Upper-Intermediate
Nice to have
Experience with cross-platform mobile frameworks such as React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, or Capacitor
Knowledge of authentication and identity systems including OAuth/OIDC, SSO, and third-party providers
Experience with OpenTelemetry and structured logging tools such as SigNoz
Experience building design systems or shared component libraries
Background in privacy- and accessibility-focused domains and standards such as FERPA, COPPA, or WCAG
