Role Objective
Maintain accurate and complete books, ensure statutory and financial compliance, control receivables / payables / banking workflows, provide management with timely MIS and cash-flow visibility, support audits and bank requirements, and build dependable accounting controls across the organization.
A. Books of Accounts & Month-End Closing
Own / review day-to-day accounting in Tally / ERP, including sales, purchases, journals, receipts, payments, debit notes, credit notes, provisions and adjustments.
Maintain proper chart of accounts, ledgers, cost centres / project codes and narration / supporting-document discipline.
Complete monthly ledger scrutiny and identify unusual balances, duplicate entries, old advances, unreconciled items and incorrect classifications.
Prepare monthly closing schedules and ensure Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and key ledgers are ready within an agreed closing calendar.
Maintain fixed-asset records, depreciation schedules and supporting documentation in coordination with the auditor.
B. Receivables, Payables & Reconciliations
Monitor customer outstanding, ageing, collections and credit terms; provide a clear receivable action list to management / sales.
Review vendor bills, purchase booking, advances, debit / credit adjustments and payment due dates before payment processing.
Ensure periodic customer and vendor balance confirmations / reconciliations and close differences promptly.
Maintain bank reconciliations, cash / petty-cash controls and inter-unit / inter-account reconciliations.
Ensure purchase invoice, PO / work order, GRN / receipt and approval documentation are aligned before payment wherever applicable.
C. GST, TDS & Statutory Accounting
Prepare / review GST working, sales-register reconciliation, GSTR-1 / GSTR-3B data and purchase-register versus GSTR-2B reconciliation.
Track eligible / ineligible ITC, missing invoices, vendor filing gaps, reverse-charge items and unresolved GST differences.
Ensure correct TDS deduction, section mapping, payable reconciliation and timely data / schedules for statutory filing.
Maintain e-invoice / e-way-bill accounting discipline and reconcile tax data with books.
Coordinate with the auditor / consultant for GST, TDS, income-tax, tax-audit and statutory submissions while retaining complete working papers.
D. Banking, Working Capital & Finance Coordination
Prepare bank / lender documentation and financial data required for CC / working-capital limits, term loans, renewals, enhancements and periodic submissions.
Monitor bank balances, utilization, interest / charges, repayment schedules and upcoming finance obligations.
Prepare short-term cash-flow / payment-priority statements and flag funding gaps in advance.
Coordinate with relationship managers, banks, SIDBI / lenders and auditors for required statements, confirmations and finance documentation, under management guidance.
Maintain organized records of sanction letters, loan statements, security / documentation records and banking correspondence.
E. Manufacturing / Inventory / Project Accounting
Understand and monitor raw material, WIP, finished goods, scrap and stock-related accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Coordinate periodic stock / inventory reconciliation between physical / store records and financial books.
Support project / job / unit-wise cost tracking, material consumption review and profitability reporting where data is available.
Flag abnormal consumption, ageing advances, unbilled / unmatched items and inventory-accounting gaps for closure.
F. MIS, Controls & Team Coordination
Prepare concise weekly / monthly management MIS covering cash, receivables, payables, tax liabilities, bank utilization and major exceptions.
Prepare monthly P&L / Balance Sheet review packs with schedules and variance explanations.
Create and enforce maker-checker controls, payment approval discipline, supporting-document standards and finance filing systems.
Allocate / review work of accounts executives and ensure each recurring task has an owner, due date and closure evidence.
Support ERP / finance-process implementation by defining clean master data, accounting flows, approval checkpoints and reporting requirements.
Experience Profile
Preferred total practical experience: approximately 4-8 years, including articleship where relevant.
Strong preference for at least 2+ years in manufacturing, engineering, industrial, project, EPC, fabrication or similar operating-company accounts.
Candidate must have personally handled month-end closing and reconciliations—not only assisted a senior.
Experience working with statutory auditors, GST / TDS compliance, banks and management reporting is important.
Experience supervising 1-3 junior accounts staff is an advantage.
