Role Description The Cloud Support Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for providing technical support and operational assistance for client environments running on Google Cloud. In this role, you will diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, including compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes-based workloads. You will monitor systems, respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain reliability, security, and performance. The position involves collaborating with development and DevOps teams, updating documentation, and recommending improvements to cloud architecture and processes. You will also assist with onboarding new customers, support change management, and contribute to automation and tooling that enhance support operations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills, with experience resolving complex cloud infrastructure and application issues.
Candidates should possess System Administration skills, including managing Linux/Windows servers, user access, configuration, and maintenance in cloud environments.
Candidates should possess Networking skills, such as working with VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers, VPNs, and connectivity in Google Cloud or similar platforms.
Candidates should possess Network Security skills, including implementing firewalls, IAM policies, encryption, and security best practices in the cloud.
Relevant skills and qualifications include experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and DevOps tools; familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash); and use of monitoring and logging tools.
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, document solutions, and work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
Preferred qualifications include prior cloud support or SRE experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
