Role Description The Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in journalism, broadcasting, and multimedia communication. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, designing course materials and assessments, mentoring and advising students, and supervising practical projects and internships. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, staying current with industry trends, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance academic quality and student engagement. The Assistant Professor will also be expected to participate in academic events, workshops, and departmental activities that support CTPL’s broader educational mission. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Jaipur.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong expertise in Journalism, with the ability to teach and guide students in reporting, ethics, and media practices.
Candidates should possess skills in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting, including familiarity with news production, scripting, and on-air presentation.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Multimedia, with experience in digital storytelling, audio-visual content creation, and online media platforms.
Candidates should possess advanced Writing skills, including news writing, feature writing, and editorial communication.
Relevant master’s degree (or higher) in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
Prior teaching or academic experience, especially in higher education, is preferred; industry experience in media or communications will be an advantage.
Strong classroom management, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse learners and foster an inclusive learning environment.
Comfort with educational technology, digital learning tools, and collaborative platforms, aligned with CTPL’s focus on tech-enabled higher education.
