Role Description The Assistant Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication will contribute to teaching, research, and academic development within CTPL’s partner institutions and programs. This full-time, on-site role is based in Jaipur and involves delivering lectures, conducting practical sessions, and mentoring learners in areas such as broadcast journalism, multimedia storytelling, and mass communication fundamentals. The role includes designing and updating curricula, developing learning materials aligned with industry trends, and integrating digital tools into classroom and lab instruction. The faculty member will assess student performance, supervise projects and internships, and support academic events, workshops, and seminars. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in academic governance, and engagement with industry partners to keep course content current are integral to the day-to-day responsibilities.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Journalism and Mass Communication, including core Journalism principles and practices.
Candidates should possess skills in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting for audio-visual news production and studio-based communication.
Candidates should possess abilities in Multimedia and Writing to create engaging, platform-appropriate content and stories.
Postgraduate degree (preferably Master’s or above) in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
Prior teaching, training, or academic mentoring experience in media or communication disciplines is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with digital media tools, newsroom workflows, content management systems, and industry standards in electronic and online media.
Strong communication, classroom management, and student engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an academic environment.
Demonstrated interest in research, publication, or industry projects in journalism, broadcasting, or media studies is an advantage.
