Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time role responsible for leading and coordinating HR activities that support ARC’s strategic goals and employees across the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. This hybrid position combines on-site work at ARC offices with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing recruitment and onboarding processes, administering employee benefits and compensation programs, and overseeing performance management and professional development initiatives. The Human Resources Manager will provide guidance on employee relations, policies, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations. The role also involves partnering with leadership on workforce planning, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration.
Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, compliance requirements, and best practices in a public or nonprofit setting.
Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals, workforce planning, and talent development.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across diverse teams.
Proficiency with HR information systems, applicant tracking tools, and standard office software (e.g., MS Office or similar productivity suites).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data and metrics to inform HR decisions and recommendations.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating a respectful, supportive workplace culture.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; relevant HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
Prior experience in an HR manager or similar leadership role, ideally within a government, regional planning, or nonprofit organization.
