Service Transition Project Manager

We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Service Transition Project Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects and transition initiatives, leading activities from initiation, planning and governance through to implementation, service introduction, operational readiness and successful handover into support.
You will work across business, operational and technical teams, managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful project delivery and business outcomes.
You will lead a broad range of initiatives including service transitions, technology deployments, operational change, service improvements and transformation projects, ensuring delivery is aligned to strategic objectives and customer requirements.
You will support clients and internal stakeholders across all aspects of project delivery, including requirements gathering, planning, governance, financial management, service acceptance, go-live activities and project closure.

You'll be responsible for:
Lead the successful delivery of projects and transition initiatives across the business, ensuring objectives, timescales, budgets and quality expectations are achieved.
Define and document project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, budgets, assumptions and success criteria in collaboration with customers and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, governance documentation, status reporting and stakeholder communications.
Manage project risks, issues, actions, dependencies and decisions to ensure successful outcomes.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive effective project governance and ensure compliance with agreed delivery methodologies and standards.
Lead the development and execution of service transition and operational readiness strategies to ensure seamless onboarding of new or changed services.
Lead the coordination and delivery of controlled and governed service introductions in line with best practice, agreed service standards and strategic objectives.
Ensure delivery is consistent with agreed delivery models, contractual obligations and organisational standards.
Manage Acceptance into Service (AIS) activities and Go-Live decisions, ensuring service risks are identified, understood and appropriately mitigated.
Ensure third-party suppliers are effectively engaged and managed to support project and service delivery objectives.
Manage escalations proactively to minimise impacts on project and operational delivery.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers and key stakeholders throughout project delivery and transition activities.
Coordinate knowledge transfer, documentation, training and support readiness activities.
Produce support cost estimates associated with new products, services or project outcomes.
Ensure all project and transition deliverables meet agreed customer and stakeholder requirements.
Follow agreed governance processes relating to status management, risk and issue management, change control, deliverable management, decision management and planning.
Support pre-sales activities, solution development and business growth opportunities where required.
You'll Ideally Have The Following Skills And Experience
Proven experience in Project Management, Service Transition, Service Delivery or Operational Change within a technology or managed services environment.
Minimum of 5 years' experience delivering projects across IT services, managed services, technology change or operational transformation environments.
Strong project management expertise, including planning, scheduling, governance, budgeting, resource management, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
Experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle from initiation through to implementation and closure.
Strong understanding of service transition, operational readiness and service introduction principles.
Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Experience working within complex, fast-paced delivery environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across business, operational and technical audiences.
Experience managing third-party suppliers and external delivery partners.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing requirements.
A self-starter who is highly organised and able to manage workload effectively.
Passion for delivering successful projects while protecting and improving live service operations.
Able to commute to the office regularly and travel to customer locations when required.
Desirable Qualifications
PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, APM PMQ or equivalent Project Management qualification.
ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
Experience within enterprise managed services and service transition environments.
Knowledge of Service Design, Service Introduction, Continuous Service Improvement and Operational Readiness practices.
