About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for our Los Angeles team. This pivotal role will serve as a key partner to managers and employees across the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The HR Generalist will play a vital role in fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring HR policies are adhered to, and maintaining a compliant and efficient HR environment. As a hands-on professional, you will have the opportunity to influence various HR functions, contribute to strategic initiatives, and ensure that our HR practices align with company goals and legal requirements.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or in a related HR role.
Strong working knowledge of California employment and labor laws, including wage-and-hour regulations, meal/rest break requirements, paid sick leave, leave of absence policies, and personnel-file management.
Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding processes, benefits administration, leave management, and HR compliance initiatives.
Excellent communication, organizational, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace applications.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing offer letters, collecting new-hire documentation, conducting I-9 verification, and overseeing exit procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, leave options, and workplace concerns, providing timely and accurate support.
Support employee relations by conducting initial investigations, documenting concerns, and escalating sensitive issues to appropriate channels.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS systems, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Assist with payroll processing, benefits enrollment, leave administration, and workers' compensation coordination to ensure seamless employee support.
Ensure all HR policies and practices are compliant with California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, paid sick leave, and personnel-file requirements.
Support performance review cycles, training initiatives, employee engagement activities, and workplace culture programs to foster a positive environment.
Contribute to updating and maintaining employee handbooks, HR policies, and compliance postings to reflect current legal requirements and best practices.
Participate in special projects related to HR process improvements, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and strategic planning efforts.
