Compensation: $197,000 - $207,000 / year

Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a close-knit, 5-person engineering team and own full-stack products end-to-end that directly impact learners and tutors worldwide. You will work in small, cross-functional pods alongside designers and stakeholders to define ambiguous problems, build and test MVPs, ship experiments, and iterate rapidly. This role requires product-minded engineers who can wear multiple hats, talk directly to users, and drive high-impact features from initial concept through launch.
Key Responsibilities
Own full-stack features end-to-end, working directly with non-technical users and stakeholders to define problems, scope MVPs, build, and iterate on solutions.
Collaborate in cross-functional pods with engineers, designers, and program leads to stand up new learning programs and experiments (e.g., project-based learning, new peer interaction formats).
Contribute strong product thinking by interviewing users, proposing solutions, and balancing technical feasibility with user needs rather than just executing on tickets.
Write clean, readable, and maintainable code across the stack using TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and Postgres, while improving patterns for future development.
Review code, pair with teammates, and participate in on-call rotations (approximately 1 week every 6 weeks) to keep the platform reliable, performant, and safe.
Qualifications
5 to 13 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.
Demonstrated track record of shipping full-stack products end-to-end to thousands of users.
Proven experience working at a small or early-stage startup environment.
Strong proficiency with typed languages and relational databases, specifically TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and Postgres (or similar stack).
Ability to define user problems, work directly with non-technical stakeholders, and propose product solutions.
Genuine interest in social impact and an education-focused mission.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
Experience with AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure is a plus.
Experience in ed-tech, marketplaces, or real-time/video products is a plus.
