Senior React Native Engineer

We are seeking a Senior React Native Engineer to take full end-to-end technical ownership of building and launching our mobile application from scratch. As the lead mobile engineer on this greenfield initiative, you will design the mobile architecture, set coding standards, build core features, and drive the app from 0-to-1 production release across iOS and Android.
Responsibilities:
Architect and Build: Design and construct our core cross-platform application from the ground up using React Native and TypeScript.
Technical Ownership: Establish app navigation, state management, offline caching, API integration, and app-wide performance baselines.
Native Integration: Implement custom native modules and bridges when JavaScript-level abstractions fall short or performance demands native code.
Release Management: Set up automated CI/CD pipelines, manage code signing and provisioning profiles, and lead App Store and Google Play Store deployment workflows.
Quality and Performance: Conduct code reviews, implement unit and end-to-end testing, and optimise app responsiveness, startup times, and memory usage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and frontend engineers to define feature roadmaps and API schemas.
Requirements:
5+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years specifically in React Native.
Demonstrated history of bringing greenfield React Native applications from initial commit to public store launches.
Deep expertise in TypeScript, modern React patterns, and state management libraries (e. g., React Query preferred).
Hands-on experience with React Native internals, bridging concepts, and the New Architecture (Fabric and TurboModules).
Solid understanding of mobile security, offline-first synchronisation, push notifications, and device hardware APIs.
Bonus Qualifications:
Native mobile development experience using Swift (iOS) and/or Kotlin (Android) to write platform-specific extensions or native UI components.
Experience configuring Expo / Expo Application Services (EAS) or managing bare React Native workflows.
Familiarity with mobile analytics, crash reporting tools (e. g., Sentry, Bugsnag), and automated testing frameworks (Vitest, Detox, similar).
