Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Data Engineering and Cloud Operation Engineer. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and application needs. The engineer will manage cloud infrastructure, monitor system performance, implement automation for deployments and operations, and ensure high availability and scalability of data and application services. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with databases and data storage solutions, optimizing queries, managing backups and recovery, and enforcing security and compliance standards. The individual will collaborate with software development, QA, and business teams to support projects, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve cloud and data environments.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Software Development skills for building data pipelines, integration scripts, APIs, and automation tooling.
Candidates should possess Infrastructure skills for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining servers, networks, containerized environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
Candidates should possess Cloud Computing skills for managing services on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including storage, compute, security, and cost optimization.
Candidates should possess Linux skills for system administration, scripting, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in production environments.
Candidates should possess Databases skills for working with relational and NoSQL systems, designing schemas, optimizing queries, and ensuring data integrity and availability.
Experience with data engineering tools (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Airflow), version control (Git), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is beneficial.
Strong problem-solving ability, clear communication, and collaboration skills in remote, cross-functional teams are required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
