Role Description The DataOps Platform Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms and pipelines that support Rockland Tech Hub’s products and client solutions. Day-to-day tasks include developing and integrating data services, optimizing data workflows, and ensuring reliable data ingestion, storage, and access across multiple environments. The role involves collaborating with software engineers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to implement automation, monitoring, and performance tuning for data infrastructure. The DataOps Platform Engineer will also troubleshoot platform issues, improve reliability and security, maintain documentation, and contribute to best practices for DataOps processes and tools.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing, resolving, and preventing issues in data pipelines and platform services.
Candidates should possess Software Development and Programming skills for building automation scripts, data services, and integration tools (e.g., Python, Java, or similar languages).
Candidates should possess Infrastructure skills for managing cloud environments, containers, orchestration tools, and CI/CD workflows.
Candidates should possess Databases skills for designing schemas, optimizing queries, and working with relational and NoSQL data stores.
Experience with DataOps practices, monitoring and logging tools, and version control systems.
Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools, data integration frameworks, and API-based data access.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
