Role Description The Data Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the collection, organization, and maintenance of business and operational data. This role includes designing and managing data repositories, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and establishing data quality controls and documentation. The Data Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, prepare reports and dashboards, and provide insights that support strategic and operational decisions. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring data integrity, troubleshooting data issues, coordinating data imports and exports, and ensuring compliance with relevant data governance and security standards. The role also involves recommending process improvements, contributing to data-related projects, and supporting stakeholders with ad hoc data requests.
Qualifications
Strong skills in data management and database administration, including organizing, storing, and retrieving structured and unstructured data.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, business intelligence platforms, or SQL-based solutions) to generate clear, actionable insights.
Experience with data quality processes, including validation, cleansing, and auditing to maintain high data accuracy and consistency.
Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices, with the ability to apply relevant standards and policies.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple data workflows and deadlines in a remote environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in data management, information systems, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or machinery-related environments is beneficial.
