Job Description:
The Assistant Accounting Manager will help drive the integration of those acquisitions, own key balance sheet reconciliations and schedules, support audit and compliance requirements, and contribute to system enhancement and process optimization initiatives. In addition to technical responsibilities, this individual will help develop and mentor Staff and Senior Accountants.
Responsibilities:
Support the Accounting Manager in the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple US entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial close.
Support integration requirements arising from several recent acquisitions, including onboarding acquired entities into the company’s accounting processes, chart of accounts, and reporting structure.
Support audit and ongoing compliance requirements, serving as a key contributor to external audit requests, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Own balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules for specific balance sheet line items, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
Help drive system enhancement and optimization projects, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data integrity within accounting systems and processes.
Aid in the development of Staff and Senior Accountants on the company’s team through coaching, review, and mentorship.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account analyses in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting.
Partner cross-functionally with other Finance and business teams to support accurate financial reporting and informed decision-making.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a multi-entity environment.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial close processes.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and account schedules.
CPA or CPA in progress required
