Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Spanish Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will facilitate real-time communication between Spanish-speaking patients and medical staff through phone, video, or online platforms, ensuring messages are conveyed accurately and neutrally. Typical responsibilities include interpreting during clinical consultations, intake interviews, follow-up appointments, and administrative discussions, as well as translating short medical documents or patient education materials when needed. The role requires careful use of appropriate medical terminology, clarification of cultural nuances when relevant, and strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy regulations. The interpreter will also document sessions when required, follow organizational protocols, and collaborate with healthcare teams to support safe, effective patient care.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting, with the ability to work accurately and impartially in clinical settings.
Proficiency in Translation for medical and administrative content, with attention to clarity and cultural appropriateness.
Advanced knowledge of Medical Terminology in both Spanish and English, including common diagnoses, procedures, and medications.
Experience with Simultaneous Interpretation or near-simultaneous modes in telehealth or medical environments.
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
Formal training or certification in medical interpreting (e.g., CMI, CHI, or equivalent) preferred.
Familiarity with healthcare privacy regulations (such as HIPAA) and professional interpreting ethics.
Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access, strong time management, and professional communication skills.
Previous experience in healthcare, social services, or related fields is an advantage.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in languages, health sciences, or related disciplines is beneficial.
We currently have three projects available:
Project 1 – Hourly rate: $4.00 per connected hour Requires minimum 9 months of experience.
Project 2 – $0.13 per talking minute Requires 3 to 6 months of experiences
Project 3 – $0.10 per talking minute and after 3 months it will be $0.12 No prior experience required. Candidates will undergo training before starting in this project
