About The Role
The Executive Director at Mercy is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of the cardiovascular service line. This role encompasses managing departments such as Echo, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Stress Testing, Cardiac Rehab, and the Cardiology Clinic. The successful candidate will lead clinical operations, oversee financial performance, and drive business planning initiatives. As a key liaison to physicians, clinical teams, and support departments, the Executive Director ensures the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care, operational excellence, and continuous growth. This position requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in healthcare management, capable of translating strategic priorities into effective operational outcomes. The role offers an opportunity to shape the future of cardiovascular services within Mercy, emphasizing quality, innovation, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Equivalent executive-level healthcare leadership experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, including operational responsibility for clinical services within a complex healthcare environment.
Experience in cardiovascular or procedural service lines is highly desirable.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and performance reporting.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively influence and engage multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the cardiovascular service line, including clinical operations, staffing, and resource management.
Oversee daily clinical workflows, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and performance analysis to meet organizational goals and optimize resource utilization.
Develop and implement business plans to support service line growth, market expansion, and service innovation.
Hire, develop, and evaluate managers and staff across all service areas, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical leaders, and support staff to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes.
Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Represent Mercy at community events, professional associations, and strategic planning sessions to promote cardiovascular services.
