Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Video Editor – After Effects at Canvas & Co. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and assembling video content for marketing campaigns, social media, and brand storytelling, with a strong emphasis on motion graphics and visual effects using Adobe After Effects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting creative briefs, designing animations, editing footage, optimizing videos for different platforms and aspect ratios, and maintaining consistent brand visuals across projects. The role also involves collaborating with content strategists, designers, and marketers to translate concepts into engaging video assets, managing project timelines, and delivering files in appropriate formats. The Video Editor is expected to stay current with video trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality and impact of Canvas & Co.’s video content.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects and video editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
Experience in motion graphics, visual effects, and creating engaging animations for marketing or social media content.
Ability to interpret storyboards and creative briefs, and translate them into polished video deliverables.
Solid understanding of video composition, pacing, sound design basics, and optimization for various digital platforms.
Strong attention to detail, including color, typography, timing, and brand consistency.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback and iterative improvement.
Prior experience in marketing, content creation, or agency environments is preferred.
Portfolio or reel demonstrating relevant video editing and motion graphics work is required.
Relevant education or training in film, media, design, or a related field is a plus.
