About The Role
The Project Accounting Associate Analyst supports business units throughout the complete project lifecycle, including project approval, cost allocation, asset capitalization, write-offs, and project closure activities.
The role performs daily and monthly project accounting activities, supports accurate project data, and contributes to timely month-end close, controls, audit readiness, and process improvement across BASF group companies and businesses.

Key Responsibilities
Perform daily and monthly activities related to the Project Accounting process for BASF group companies and businesses.
Complete month-end close activities for assigned low-complexity companies accurately and within agreed timelines.
Maintain accurate and complete project master data and supporting documentation for assigned business units.
Support project approvals, cost allocations, asset capitalization, write-offs, and project closure activities.
Collaborate with the team to improve process design and identify opportunities for standardization and automation through new technologies and systems.
Support merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities involving business lines or legal entities.
Assist with audits, internal controls, reconciliations, and other key organizational requirements.
Communicate exceptions, issues, and progress updates to relevant stakeholders and support timely resolution.
Education
Professional qualification in Finance (e.g., B.Com., CA, CPA, etc.), MBA, or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Work Experience & Skills:
1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, or a related field.
Understanding of month-end closing, cost allocation, asset capitalization, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Customer-focused approach with effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned activities within deadlines.
Proactive, collaborative, and willing to learn in a global business services environment.
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
Fluent English is required
Understanding of project accounting processes and basic finance controls is preferred.
Experience in a shared services, multinational, or GCC environment is an advantage.
