2. About the Opportunity:
The AWS QuickSight BI Developer role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable business intelligence and reporting solutions within the AWS environment. This position plays a key role in enabling informed decision-making by delivering secure, high-quality, and reusable BI capabilities that support enterprise-wide analytics needs.
3. Responsibilities:
Design and maintain interactive dashboards, visualizations, analyses, and datasets in Amazon QuickSight.
Develop high-performance dashboards optimized for large data volumes and operational reliability.
Create and manage curated datasets, semantic layers, and reusable data models.
Develop standardized templates, themes, KPIs, calculated fields, and modular reporting components.
Implement row-level security and role-based access controls.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
Enable self-service analytics through reusable frameworks, documentation, and training.
Integrate data from AWS services including Redshift, Athena, S3, RDS, and Glue Data Catalog.
Optimize SPICE and direct query usage for performance and cost efficiency.
Monitor and tune query and reporting performance and recommend cost-effective architectures.
Establish and maintain BI development standards and governance processes.
Support testing, defect resolution, and continuous improvement of BI products.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance dashboard development and analytics delivery.
4. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5 to 8 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, reporting, or data visualization.
Proven experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions in Amazon QuickSight.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and analytic data modeling.
Experience with AWS analytics and data services such as Athena, Redshift, S3, RDS, and Glue.
Ability to develop reusable datasets, calculated fields, KPIs, and reporting templates.
Knowledge of dashboard performance tuning and cost-management practices.
Experience with AI-assisted development or analytics tools.
Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to obtain public trust access and complete federal background checks.
US work authorization required.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
