The Opportunity
We're seeking an Accounting Advisor to join our growing team as a strategic leader who bridges world-class execution with high-level financial advisory. This isn't just about reviewing financials. It's about becoming a trusted advisor to business owners navigating complex growth decisions.
Strategic Advisor: You'll work directly with executive-level clients through monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc advisory calls. You'll translate financial data into actionable insights that drive business decisions, build custom KPI dashboards, and provide strategic financial guidance that helps owners scale with confidence.
Quality Leader: You'll conduct thorough month-end close reviews for your client portfolio across all client stages (Early, Growth, and Executive), ensuring every deliverable meets our high standards. For executive-level and complex clients, you'll also prepare month-end closes hands-on and serve as a technical escalation point for complex accounting issues.
Special Projects Support: From time to time, you'll contribute to special projects such as QBO integrations and software rollouts, working with your Accounting Manager of F&A to help implement changes that support the team's growth.
This role is perfect for someone who's outgrown pure compliance work and wants to operate at the intersection of technical accounting excellence and strategic business advisory.
What You'll DoStrategic Client Advisory
Lead monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial advisory sessions with executive-level clients across behavioral health, wellness, and small business sectors
Translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives that business owners can act on
Build custom KPI dashboards and financial reports using tools like Fathom
Provide proactive guidance on cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and growth strategy
Identify opportunities to add value beyond the monthly close; becoming a true partner, not just a service provider
Quality Control
Prepare month-end close financials for executive-level and complex clients
Review month-end close financials for your assigned client portfolio across all client stages (Early, Growth, and Executive)
Conduct thorough reviews to ensure accuracy, GAAP compliance, and timely delivery (by the 20th of each month)
Collaborate with offshore solutions team to ensure quality execution and timely delivery
Resolve complex accounting issues and serve as a technical escalation point for the team
Special Projects & Process Support
Contribute to special projects as they arise, such as QBO integrations and software rollouts (Stripe, Shopify, PayPal, a2x, RightWorks, Numeral, etc.)
Flag process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to your Accounting Manager of F&A
Help document and roll out process updates within your client portfolio
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a client-facing advisory or managerial role
Deep expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and GAAP accounting principles, including hands-on month-end close preparation. NetSuite experience a plus.
Hands-on execution skills: Comfortable preparing complex month-end closes for executive clients while also reviewing team deliverables
Advisory mindset: You can shift seamlessly from detailed close preparation to high-level strategic conversations with business owners
Preferred Experience
CPA certification (active and in good standing)
Startup or scaling company experience: You've worked in a fast-paced, founder-led organization where you had to build processes, not just follow them
Industry expertise in behavioral health practices, wellness businesses, or small business accounting
Experience with financial planning tools like Fathom, Jirav, or similar KPI dashboards
Experience working with offshore teams or distributed team workflows
Background in public accounting or high-growth firms where you learned to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Technical curiosity: You're comfortable with software integrations, automation tools, and finding tech solutions to manual processes
